Netflix’s Enola Holmes sees Millie Bobby Brown on a quest to find her mother.

The world of Sherlock Holmes is about to get a little bigger. The upcoming Netflix movie Enola Holmes follows the legendary detective’s little sister, played by none other than Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, and the first trailer has arrived.

Based on a book by Nancy Springer, director Harry Bradbeer–who won two Emmys for his work on Fleabag–brings the story of Sherlock Holmes’ lesser-known family member to life. Enola Holmes arrives on September 23, and you can check out the first trailer for the movie .

“England, 1884–a world on the brink of change. On the morning of her 16th birthday, Enola Holmes (Brown) wakes to find that her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) has disappeared, leaving behind an odd assortment of gifts but no apparent clue as to where she’s gone or why,” reads the official synopsis. “After a free-spirited childhood, Enola suddenly finds herself under the care of her brothers Sherlock (Henry Cavill) and Mycroft (Sam Claflin), both set on sending her away to a finishing school for ‘proper’ young ladies. Refusing to follow their wishes, Enola escapes to search for her mother in London. But when her journey finds her entangled in a mystery surrounding a young runaway Lord (Louis Partridge), Enola becomes a super-sleuth in her own right, outwitting her famous brother as she unravels a conspiracy that threatens to set back the course of history.”

The upcoming film also features Adeel Akhtar (The Big Sick), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Frances de la Tour (Outlander), and more.

As for Brown’s starring role on the hit series Stranger Things, production was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but creator Ross Duffer did reveal some things about the future of the series. “Season 4 won’t be the end [of the series]. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”
